Biography of Scot Louis Crum

Hello all!
I am beyond excited to start this journey with our kiddos to excite the musical nerve we all hold in ourselves.
I wanted to let you know a little about me and where i come from.

I was born in Harlingen, TX. I grew up in a town named Brownsville, and my family is rooted in Matamoros, Mexico. Si, hablo espanol muy fluido.
My musical interest began in elementary school in Mr. McCleary's class. These memories still swim in the depths of my mind decades after the time because of the incredible person and educator this man was. My grandfather was in a Banda almost his entire life, so i knew how to produce a better grito before a full sentence. From then on i always had a musical presence and appreciation for the arts.
After I graduated from high school in Brownsville I pursued a degree at Texas State University - San Marcos. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Communication and continued to teach in the Austin area for the proceeding three years.

Throughout my time along the I-35 area, I was a professional recording artist for multiple genres and groups. I am a salsa singer, and an RnB singer, and I have recorded trumpet for the mentioned genres for artists in the San Antonio and Austin area over the last five years.
My principle instrument is trumpet, but I also play piano, and guitar.

My primary purpose as an educator is to help produce great people; the musician is part of that person i and all the teachers at Parkwood strive to foster everyday, and integrating a true artistic perspective to enhance the journey of life is what I am hoping to create in my classroom.

I only see optimistic and positive experiences ahead for all of my students and colleagues, and I aim to bring the best out in those that I have the opportunity to converse, and experience the coming school years with.
I cant wait to be there with you all.
